How can parenting styles influence later adult behavior in shy or anxious children? ?

If they have shy quiet parents that hide facts, and don't communicate...they will likely follow.

If they have loud parents that speak their mind, and discuss everything...then they will likely follow.

The grey area in between would, result in fairly ';normal'; behavior. How can parenting styles influence later adult behavior in shy or anxious children? ?
I don't think a parent can do much to influence whether or not their child is shy or not as an adult. I do think they can help by getting the child involved in sports and other activities and socializing them as much as possible.

I am very shy...still at age 28. My parents had normal parenting style. I got grounded if I did something bad, and rewarded if I did good. I had/have a good relationship with both my parents. They didn't leave me feeling insecure. I was in activities. I had friends. I am just shy. I inherited it. My grandpa is very shy and so is my mom. Children who grow up feeling secure and develop a secure attachment with their parents tend to be more outgoing than children who develop insecure attachments. Children with insecure attachments are more likely to be anxious.
