It happens.
I know that 16 years ago when I had my first child I never imagined that I would be raising 6 on my own. But here I am... and there wasn't anything I could do to stop it or change it.
I just enjoy it.... I enjoy raising my kids, I enjoy not having some idiot trying to tell me what to do or how to do it. I enjoy just being mom and having my kids with me all the time to myself. Maybe I'm crazy, but my kids have been my life since they came into my life and it's a great feeling knowing that there is no one there belittling them or being butts to them. What's your opinion of single parent parenting?
Single parents are very common so don't feel alone. Personnaly i would say that 2 parents are better then one but that is not the most important thing: love is. 1 parents who loves for and cares for their child is better than 2 who don't!
I know so many kids that have been screwed up by their parents whether single or joint. I always advise any parent or prospective parent to go on some parenting courses, read the books and talk to others. Being a parent is the most important thing you can do and a huge responsibilty so do all you can to be the best parent you can be.What's your opinion of single parent parenting?
i personally am a single parent and think a am a great mother, on the other hand i know there are a lot of single mothers that i don't think are that great, but the same goes for married mothers and fathers.if your a good parent, your a good parent, your marital status has nothing to do with it. i personally was also raised by just my mom, and i NEVER even knew when i was little that it wasnt socially the ';right way to parent';. being a single parent verses couple parenting is not really possible, people are, like i said, either good at it or not.
They do it all. Both the mother and or father's job. I'm not a single parent, but some days I feel like it... my husband is in the Navy and is gone ALOT. It's hard for me to do it on my own for 4-8 months out of the year - I don't know how single parents can do it their whole lives.
My personal opinion of them is that they are very strong people. Strong enough to deal with the stresses of home and the stresses of work and still support their children's emotional needs and putting their needs dead LAST. They are wow - just very strong people - don't really know how else to describe it! lol!
i WAY prefer it to being part of a set - i just broke up with her father. one of the major reasons is i was sick and tired of being undermined and made to be the bad guy all the time.
example: i say ';she's 22mo and 49lbs - no junk food. she's heavy enough, she doesn't need crap weight on top of it';. not kidding: TEN MINUTES LATER he's coming back from the store with a chocolate bar, then he does this huge fake ';busted!'; act and says ';i bought this for you but mommy says you can't have it';.
worse, i caught him giving her a bag of chips and telling her ';keep this away from mommy - it's just our secret';.
she cries because i say no, she runs to daddy and he says ';oh, okay, lighten up mommy!';
i say it's way past bedtime, he's saying it's still early, she can stay up a little longer.
being single means i have full control over what's best for my daughter.
Parenting is the toughest job in the world. Being a single parent is extremely difficult, I don't envy any single parent.
I think I'm glad to be in this child-raising business with a partner.
But ultimately I think the quality of a person's relationship with and guidance towards their child is far more important than their marital status.
I admire their strength and bravery. I think I'd struggle on my own, so I have enormous respect for any parent who is a single parent.
i think we are strong ppl! we have 2 be its a tough job!
it is hard to parent, single or otherwise, not a job to be taken lightly
It isn't always easy, but its very rewarding
go single parents, do that ****, WOOOOOOOOO
i dont mind
I am going to go by what I have seen with my own eyes.
Out of many may many single mothers, I can only think of 2 who brought their children up to treat them with respect and to behave in and out of public. The vast majority of women let their brats run all over them and they became little terrors and most were in trouble with the law before they were 16.
That says it all for me.
