Wifeswap: such polar extremes in parenting and lifestyles. Are there any normal (not extreme) parents that?

apply to this show? It really is either one or the other.....the parents are way too rigid for the kid to be happy or the parents are so free for all that the kids learn no boundaries.Wifeswap: such polar extremes in parenting and lifestyles. Are there any normal (not extreme) parents that?
well I think even many ';normal'; families would clash a bit.

I am a normal family from NYC, mix us up with a normal family from Texas, I am sure there would be some craziness too!

but it is a tv show, no one would watch if it was all just your average people.Wifeswap: such polar extremes in parenting and lifestyles. Are there any normal (not extreme) parents that?
That show sickens me. I feel so sorry for those children who didn't even have a say in how this all played out. All because the parents want a little fame and/or money, they are willing to sacrifice their children's happiness......disgusting!
I don't know. But I'd love to see one where Mom #1 is a complete pacifist-crunchy-granola-hippie type and Mom #2 (not dad, Mom) is a Marine or at least in some branch of the military. Maybe she's a Drill Sergeant (or whatever the equivalent is for that branch)...

Now THAT would be interesting.
Sure there are I have seen some episodes where the basic parenting morals, you could say, were the same but they led completely different lives like different jobs, such as one is a homemaker and the other is in the corporate world.
Producers pick people for maximum drama. It's completely intentional that the participants are always such opposites.

Those shows are also edited to make everything seem as dramatic as possible.
I think a lot of it is ';put on'; for the show -- that one with the pirate family was just too bizarre for words.

On the other hand -- there's a lot of STRANGE people out there. Who knows?
I agree with * from the Great White North*

People are set in their ways and they can't see any other way but theirs. I love the show Wifeswap though and I think it helps some families really appreciate their spouses more.
There are no Extreme parents who apply to go on the show, but they do not make it as it would not have as good viewing figures.
how great would the show be if they didnt have extreme people on it? it would have as many ratings if they were just regular parents.
I've seen a couple shows where the parenting styles weren't sooo extreme but it just isn't as entertaining
~~I'm sure ';Normal'; people apply..they just don't get chosen...wouldn't be interesting enough for T.V.....Remember the Networks are out for RATINGS!~~
Unfortunately I think there are many that do, but us normal folks do not make for good TV ratings!
Yes I am sure there are. They just don't make it on because it wouldnt make good tv.
i agree with you and have often wondered that my self.
