I'm going to boycott this category and hopefully save someone from getting ridiculously bad advice from a close-minded, controlling, unrealistic, judgmental mother. Anyone with me?Should Yahoo Answers get rid of the ';parenting'; category?

You can't control the way people think just by boycotting a certain section of something. No one required to follow advice given to them when they ask a question here. I agree that some may be bad advice, but there is often good advice as well, no matter which section you look at. If you want to boycott this category to ';ridiculously bad advice from a close-minded, controlling, unrealistic, judgmental mother';, you may as well boycott the whole yahoo answers section of the site to try to save everyone from other close-minded sources.
Nope. You can get horrible advice in any category no matter what. I mean, look at politics, look at love and look at teens, no matter what, this site, doesn't take responsibility for the words that the people write, and usually, unless a legit source is provided, they are based around opinons. Don't boycott something, unless its the whole site. Its a waste of time.
If your going to boycott this section aren't you simply saving yourself from that advice? Your not going to stop anyone else from asking or answering as they see fit. One of the best parts of parenting is that everyone gets to decide what is best for them. You may not like some answers but that doesn't make them wrong for everyone.

I love this category. Only a moron would take what some nameless faceless stranger says as fact. I know the answers I receive here are just people's thoughts and opinions. But it is nice to hear about other people going through similar troubles as me. Or other people having the same fun with their kids as I am.

I think people feel that way when people don't like the responses they get to their questions. Just b/c someone gives ';bad'; advice doesn't mean you have to take it or even be offended. Its the risk you take asking in a setting like this.
NO! You get bad advice sometimes, but you also get good, understanding advice too. By the way, you make no sense, if your going to boycott something you do not announce it, just do it.
No! I get some very good answers on here! I also get some bad but everybody has their own perspective on parenting. Its nice to hear from all sides.
