My question is:
Is there anyone, besides me, that think thats most moms and dads these days are becoming what is defined to be a ';Bad Parent';?
Kids are getting knocked up at 13.
Boys are losing their virginity at 11.
8 year olds are wearing mini skirts and dressing like a life size ';Brat Doll';.Bad Parenting Of The New Age?
yeah ppl just don't care and let there kids do whatever they want my boyfriends sister is almost 16 and her parents let her get married at 15 illegal i don't know who they did it but she got married to a 22 year old because he was ganna go to jail because of the relationship he was having with her her parents let her do whatever she wants she hangs out with 14 year old girls who drink and smoke all the time and way older guys like 23 and stays at there house for nights in a row i don't understand if you ganna be a bad parent don't have kids its f***ed up i get so mad at his parentsBad Parenting Of The New Age?
def yes! i work at a portrait studio and i see everything, there was this one kid who was 8 months and couldnt sit by himself had a bald spot and flat on the back of his head from his parents just leaving him on his back. plus im in a town where everyone( no exaggeration) age 14-45 is either preg, has a kid or two. plus kids arent disciplined at all. my future mom in law works at daycare and she says they have no respect and are super spoiled. kids just wanna have sex and grow up, its the new cool thing now..unfortunately. but there are alot of good parents. but the bad numbers are increasing
Absolutely.. Do you want to know why none of my 5 kids drink, do drugs, dress like hos??? because they grew up knowing that I'd beat them till they bled (figuratively, of course)..and you know what else?? because they knew I would.... I never had to.....
I don't necessarily believe that it's bad parenting of the new age. I think it's just bad parenting in general. It wouldn't matter what age we were living in these children would be doing the same stuff. I think the cause of the whole problem is lack of education for these children at these ages. They don't get the education they need from mommy or daddy because they either are too busy working, are embarassed by the thought of talking about sex with their children, or they just flat out don't care what they do because they've never been able to discipline them.
If people want to see a decrease in the activity these children are engaging in, it's not taking a parenting class at a college. Truthfully I think there's more then enough capable parents it's the lack of time they have to educate their children that makes it hard. It's time for schools to stop preaching abstinence only programs and it's time to start educating children about the dangers of sex, how to use protection, birth control, and better understanding about the changes to one's body during puberty.
It's not going to fix everything, but I would rather have kids have the knowledge about it then to have none whatsoever. Ignorance is not bliss, it causes a lot of issues especially teenage pregnancy.
Yes. Parents are totally overindulgent with their kids these days, and kids are smart- they know they have their parents wrapped around their fingers and they use this knowledge to their advantage. Co-sleeping, baby-wearing, huge parties for the kids, video games at the dinner table and teachers who are afraid to say anything to kids for fear of being fired or sued are going to ruin our future generations. Parents didn't used to be like this, and I don't know what is going to happen if we keep going on like this. Parents have GOT to learn how to say NO and treat their kids like children, not miniature adults.
Yes. Not all of them...but more than not it seems to be the case. Going out anywhere there are families you see it. It's nuts, and it running rampant. So many people are concerned with materialism, and forget at the end that kids don't care about that. The kids need their parents...not a 2 hour a day babysitter calling themselves a parent. I see a ton of parents simply run off for ';me'; time...all the time. Thats not being a parent.
Where are the parents when this stuff thats happening now goes on? Obviously not being a parent keeping an eye on their kids. Kids aren't meant to raise themselves. Thats what is happening now. Parents are never there, and let them virtually raise themselves. It's disgusting and sad.
If you have kids, be a parent ALL the time, not just when it suits your ';schedule';. Thats my attitude.
It's only going to get worse sadly. Until the emplament (much needed) laws on having unsupervised kids, and kids left at home....things will only continue to get worse.
I don't critique other parenting styles. All families are different. I have faith in my parenting abilities and that's all that matters. The last thing I'd want is some stranger off the street criticizing me. Parents need to stick together, not drag each other down. We all do the best we can.
I don't disagree with you, but at the same time, things are a lot different than when I was a kid. The world is changing and maybe some parents are having a hard time keeping up. Not that that is any justification, but you can only do so much for you kids. Once they get a taste of the real world and have all kinds of bad influences around them, I can see how it would be difficult.
